Press release says Mandrake is merging with Conectiva. Says the press release, "Conectiva's technical achievements are also well known in the worldwide Linux community. Among them, the RPM port of apt-get (apt-rpm) and the new Smart Package Manager are just two examples of Conectiva's accomplishments."
Dave, your days of using "urpmi" are numbered. You will soon get to use "apt-rpm" on your favorite distro to get that latest packages. LOL!

I am using Debian now and I love aptitude and the way I could "apt-get install" and "apt-get upgrade" everything =)
Why not "apt-get" rpms and not just debs? :)
