My cold hasn't abated. It's been a punishing week, with a lot of work and a cold ruining my mood. I couldn't take any vacation time, since the slots are all filled up. Most of my officemates have managed to squeeze-in vacation time over the Christmas week and only a few hapless souls are left to occupy the office space left in oblivion by the vacationing many. I get to pick my own chair!!! LOL
With fewer warm bodies to shed heat and combat the infernal airconditioning, most of us have caught a cold. And since the office feels more spacious and quieter, all you'll be able to notice is the piped-in music blasting out Christmas songs 24 / 7. Hmmmm . . . Come to think of it, Jose Mari Chan does have some **Nice songs**. Imagine that cool, crisp voice droning classic Christmas melodies. No, I am not a hacker who spends 20-hour days in front of a computer monitor, and happened to have hacked into Ed's blog to impersonate him and ruin his reputation by confessing a secret admiration of Jose Mari Chan. It's still me people, and I meant what I said about Jose Mari Chan.
This afternoon, a line caught my ear. It said, "... and I'll go to sleep, counting my blessings." During this season plenty, most of us are too engrossed in getting the things we want. We count the gifts we get and the gifts we buy. We're busy buying food for Noche Buena and stuff like that. We tend to forget what we already have, and that compared to others, we do have plenty. Go to The Hungersite.com . There are a lot of people dying of hunger everyday. You DO have to power to help.
While your checking that out, I'll be hitting the sack. I still have a cold and I still have to go to work tomorrow. I'll be listening to Jose Mari Chan again. Ah! That cool, crisp voice. Arghhhhh! I think I'm actually enjoying his singing.... Maybe its the cold medication. I wonder if research has been conducted on the behavior-modifying characteristics of cold medication (?) Some of this stuff actually tastes good!
