I first started to blog to get myself writing again. It's been a liberating experience so far. There's something about creating that stirs up the soul. But when you start to go beyond exorcising your own demons, you begin to be aware of others. That's why I've started reading other blogs.
I've been wandering all over the web in search of blogs to read and follow. Few have managed to keep me interested. The Homeless Guy tells us about the the life of Kevin Barbieux and his struggles with homelessnes. Life in the Freezer details the adventures of Gillian Hadley in the Antarctic. Barefoot and Happy, found in one of my forays into the web, is about a "sarcastic, introverted, intelligent, dumb, ambitious, insecure, lazy, greedy, desperate for approval, incredibly narcissistic, a terrible bore" who thinks "the words 'random', 'thoughts' and 'ramblings' should be kept at least 500 feet from all diaries/weblogs/livejournals et nunc et semper...." LOL ... My thoughts exactly.
These sites are insighful and have led me to discover a world out there beyond my own. I am moving towards being more conscious of a world much more bigger than my own concerns. The sight may not always be that pretty, but it opens up our perspective. It can't be all good, right? We can always learn a thing or two from others about how to inspire positive change. Maybe a revolution from the center? A revolution beginning with one person....Ourselves.
